About This Classroom
Our Pre-K Classroom is designed for children ages 4–5 and focuses on preparing students for a successful transition into kindergarten. All children must be 4 years of age by September 1st, as set by state guidelines. We provide a structured yet nurturing environment where children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually through purposeful learning and play. CURRICULUM
Our Pond Room uses BJU Footsteps for Fours, a comprehensive early learning curriculum that builds foundational skills in many different areas of learning.
Through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, and interactive learning experiences, students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop confidence as independent learners.
DAILY ROUTINE
Our consistent daily schedule provides structure while allowing time for creativity and exploration. Click here for the full breakdown of the Pond Room daily schedule.
BATHROOM PROCEDURES
Students need to be fully potty trained in order to attend our preschool programs as they will have scheduled bathroom breaks throughout the day. If a child needs to use the restroom outside of scheduled times, he or she is always permitted to do so. Your child must be able to communicate bathroom needs, be on a 2-hour schedule, use a regular sized toilet, be able to wipe himself/herself clean, and be able to pull bottoms off and on independently.
REST TIME
Students are encouraged—but not required—to sleep during rest time. Each child should remain on his or her cot quietly for the duration of nap time and avoid disturbing others. This quiet rest period allows children to recharge for the remainder of the day.
